Kahles 5x25i rifle scope...
      #335517 - 16/12/19 06:19 AM

https://www.kahles.at/us/competition/pro...471ee09b2a2c874

While attending a LR shooting school last weekend, MY rifle was topped with a Kahles 525i scope with the SKMR reticle option..

This is one of the nicest scopes I have ever used. It is first focal plane, clarity was second to none and it tracked perfectly from 100 to 1400 yards.. Dialing up countless ranges throughout the two day period performance was flawless. The reticle center circle has a very small dot which really draws your eye to the distant targets.. I found it very user friendly... Very nice piece of equipment..

My only negative for this is weight.. I personally would not mount this on a mountain rifle that I'd pack up a mtn at 14,000 feet..but for general day hunting OR long range competitions, this would one of my top choices...

The high zoot scopes are amazing.
I had my Steiner Military out the other day. Definitely a different experience than the other (quite nice) scopes I have on other rifles.

G'Day Fella's and Happy New Year to you all,

I agree with you there Ripp.
A mate of mine (DD), who used to be with Swarovski, is now the Australian sales rep, for Kahles.
The high end Kahles scopes, really are very underrated (as are Meopta).
I would like to fit one of these Kahles, to one of my Long Ranger rifles (to show him my support), but after spending over $10K on Nightforce scopes, in the last few years, it's a bit hard to justify.

Maybe some time in the future.

Best Wishes for a Safe and Prosperous 2020!

If you have a buddy who is a sales rep, you should be able to get a considerable discount no??
Man I would jump at a that chance..

AS to the Nightforce..There are no flies in that either.. great glass and an awesome piece of equipment..have a couple and really enjoy them... used them at a long range school I attended recently.. have to say the are right up there I glass and quality to anything I have tried..think they have one of the best repeatability tracking of any scope available.. I truly do believe the are a better scope than Swaro or Zeiss.. Not trying to offend anyone, just my beliefs..

G'Day Fella's,

Yes Ripp, I can get pretty well anything I want, at just over wholesale price.
Another mate of mine (GG), owns one of the biggest Gun Shops in Sydney, and he looks after me with prices.

I agree with you on the Nightforce scopes and equipment, they really do make, an exceeding impressive, World Class product. Thats why I own 4 of them.

Ripp, you may have heard me say this else where, and please don't take offence, but I am of the opinion that generally, American's make Cars, Guns and Scopes, where as the European's make Automobiles, Firearms and Optical Equipment.
Obviously, Nightforce and a few other American products, are an exeption to this but I'm sure you understand what I mean.

Regards
Homer

No offense taken.. I understand what you are saying.. I recently purchased a new German auto.. really enjoy that car.. one of the nicest I have ever owned..next one even close is another German made auto..

As to rifle scopes vs optical equipment, I don't see the big difference in that area anymore.. feel the nose in the air attitude about those are not longer really warranted.. I own a lot of European optics, however as of late, have gone back to American made "SCOPES" ..they do all I ask of them and more.. with no limitation for my needs.. and yes, the "optical equipment" has failed for me on more than one occasion.. 3 to be exact..I have literally fired thousands of rounds more with higher end American scopes..no issue..

Frankly don't see it in the firearms area anymore either.. especially when it comes to custom firearms done by gunsmiths around the nation.. at this point for new, I will only buy local..and I am only typically buying custom..for the keepers anyway...but hey, its a free world, well, that's not really true either... but you get the idea.. everyone can buy what they prefer..

Back to the original topic... The Kahles scope is truly an awesome piece of glass, my only complaint is I would not have one for hunting.... at least where I hunt.. way too heavy..but for long range competitions or just shooting long range, that thing is the real deal..

Over 2 pounds - that's an impressive weight.

Was thinking of this a bit on the way to work today.. made me realize you are correct .. similar to the US builds ships and aircraft carriers while the rest of the world build boats or the US builds fighter jets while the rest built airplanes..

YES, I guess you could say I am a proud American..if that offends someone, fuck off.. don't care...

Was watching Trump during his speech last night on how the US again has been flipping the bill for much in the WTO, while nations like Germany, France, GB, etc..get by paying next to nothing for what the US has been paying.. Trump said that is about to change.. I truly hope that happens.. time for the rest of the world to take care of their own shit without Uncle Sam taking the brunt of it financially.. That sentiment is increasing throughout our nation which is another one of the dozens of reasons Trump was elected in the first place.. First it started with Mexico and Canada, which has been done in the new trade deal, China has signed phase one (which all the libs said would crush our economy, yet, here we are, strongest economy out there, shocker) ..and now its Europe's turn.. they have had tariffs and taxes on their trade with us for decades.. NO more... which frankly is again, one of the reasons I have quite buying anything from Europe, China or anywhere else vs the US.. and again, that sentiment is also growing here.. see it more and more and more.. even store manageres are now apologizing for selling a product not made here.. I see that as a good thing..

There off of my soapbox for the day.. had to get that off my chest..
I realize I went way off topic here.. but,... didn't like what was stated...if that offends someone, well, refer to the above paragraph..

G'Day Fella's,

No offence taken Ripp and Great to see your Loyalty, to your Great Country (MAGA) and it's products.

I agree with you mate, the rest of the world has had to lift it's game, to compete with the Europeanan's, in so many area's. But so many of the European's, are still trying to work out, "How The Phuck do we lift our game, to compete with, or Equal these American products?"

Homer

NO problem..no harm, no foul..

As I stated, as a substantial taxpayer and per a post recently put up by Daryl, I for one am over with the US paying for most of the crap we were never originally intended to pay for when the deals were drawn up...

It's a dog eat dog world out there. Face it every day in business.. BUT, the rest of the world needs to figure it out.. I travel a lot for both work and pleasure.. I am constantly told Americans work to hard, too much and take too short of vacations.. Normally I look at the person saying that, take a look around where I am currently at, assess the surroundings and say, and I am thankful we do..
