Yes - good hunt. Tough animal. That spot and stalk is the same method I've used on deer, here in this area. Few steps, look all round, few steps, look all round - and there they are, less than 50 yards way and you're right beside them.

From what I am told they are not the easiest animal to hunt. They did well and yes one tough animal.

From what Graham Williams says on the video, it sounded like the second shot was better than the first.

With large bovines, often the adrenalingets pumping if the first shot is not effective.

I think my banteng died from one shot, from my .450 No. 2 NE and 480 gr Woodleigh RNSP. Plus an insurance shot on the bull on the ground.

However it can can common with any big bovine to need more than one shot. Some buffalos I have killed have taken several. Usually only brain or spine shots kill instantly.

Very wide banteng trophy bull taken in the video by Chris Sells. Congratulations to Chris. He should be pleased with that bull.

Graham Williams always does a good job and works hard at it. If considering a buffalo, banteng or other hunt in the Top End, give him a call or email.

If you listen well just before the banteng move you can hear a couple shots from the adjacent watershed.
