Its a Robert Hughes made around 1865 or later. It is a 16 bore and shoots very well. Seems to like a 75 gr charge of Goex 2f.

Nice piece, how many grooves and what twist do you think it has? I assume patched round ball?

Nice rifle Wayne.
I'm currently bringing a Robert Hughes 14 gauge percussion single barrel Fowler back to shooting condition.

Sounds a treat, Matt.
Wayne, I've been thinking about that rear sight and that it is likely designed and sighted for a short conical.

What I do is open the link, then open the image in a new tab. Close the old one. Nothing is free, it costs money to provide hosting space. Some over do the adverts.
