can the 338 lapua be brought from gun shops in australia i was told it is only used by the millitary and not for public use

338 Lapua can be purchased from Gun shops. Amo, and reloading components can
also be purchased without any problem.

A friend of mine shoots one, built on a Brno 602 action, and it is quite heavy. I would not like to pack it.
