Walked a creek for a arvo hunt, with the 222. Found a boar bedded, as I lined him up he stood up two quick shots had him on the ground.
Chris dropped a couple with the 12g and solids.
We then moved on to some culling, and dropped 15 with SG's and the 222.
heres a few pics cheers Mick

Sako looks slick.
What is the bullet and load?

222 is not an official boar cartridge here but the stutzen looks very good!

Louis was asking - do we eat donkeys? I am guessing these pigs are loaded up for butchering? Human and or animal meat?

Now Mick is becoming the small calibre NT shooter! A .222 in the Territory, that must be more rare?

I like the Sako Stutzen. What model and age is it?

I was only thinking of .222 Stutzen's last week. A friend used to have a synthetic Steyr Stutzen in .222.

Its a Sako L461 222, unsure of what year. Leupold vx 2 2x7 sits on top. Could go larger but small scope suits it.
Not the most suitable cal for up here but gets an occasional run. We were shooting a mango block so small cal preferred. Pigs being removed as pickers picking the next day. Concerns about hitting irrigation lines requires some thought before letting a shot go.
Some butchered for dog meat.
Also run a Brno 17 ackley hornet. Hasn't been used of a while..................

Cool rifle - in .222 yet. I have a Sako A1 in .222
and also a BRNO (CZ) in .17AH. I've not thought of
the .222 as a hog rifle.

Good shooting mate!
Yeah the Nosler's are tougher than you think, my son shot a Rusa hind with his .223, used the 55gn lot.
