A superb thread fellas as it`s answered a lot of the questions I had about the 9.3x74R.
As a matter of interest, what is the maximum velocity - with a 286gr bullet - that can be safely achieved in a DR ? - And what powder is recommended ?

IMR 4064 is an excellent powder for the 9,3X74R and about 2,300 f.p.s. is about as fast as I would push things in my older DR. I can get away with 2,350 in my Valmet and Tikka O/Us. I wouldn't push things any higher and, in fact, like to load a bit down.

A while ago I had the same question. Geoff McDonald, WOODLEIGH BULLETS, gave me the following answer:

"The 320gr 9.3 is meant for 9.3 x 64, but are OK for 9.3 x 62. They may not
shoot in doubles."
