Loaded 4 test rounds for my 16 bore pinfire. Wanted to make sure that the process ends in rounds that go boom. All worked so I'll load more in a few days. These were with magtech brass. Going to try the same process on some all plastic hulls that I was given by some members.

My friend with the lathe convinced me that turning 25 inconsistent magtech brass would be a lot more work than making the chamber rims fit the cartridge. So no lathe work on the brass. I tried to use the cases as they were, leaving the primer pocket on the inside but I could not get consistent ignition because of the hard angle. So I drilled the primer pocket from the inside of the case until it was flush with the base. I then epoxied a thin 5/8" brass disc inside the case all the way at the bottom. Next step is to take a 1/4" over powder card and punch 1 hole in the middle and then bite out just a bit of one side to make it slightly oblong 7/32". Primer fits inside this hole in the wad. Push the wad all the way to the base and then drill the hole for the brass firing rod through the case and the paper wad. Position a cap into the paper wad hole and push in the firing rod. Then just load as normal. Since I reduced the angle of the firing rod I've had no misfires or failure to fire. I tried to do the same with 100% plastic hulls but they are too small of a diameter inside for my wads and overpowder cards. I have been sent a small brass insert that inserts from the rear with a cap already inside. I will try this method as well as soon as I get the proper size drill bit to drill the hole into the base.

Are you using water-glass to seal the overshot wad in the brass cases?
I've been doing that with my 12 bore. Of course, I have to use
11 bore wads in the 12 bore cases.
When I was loading the 16 bore brass cases for the Husky M20 I had, I used 14 bore wads. www.trackofthewolf.com - for circle fly wads

I made my own over shot wads. Using elmer's glue. Don't have any water glass at the moment.
