A Red from the 2019 Roar
      #327417 - 18/04/19 05:48 PM

Got this fella a couple of weeks ago. Biggest bodied bush Red I've ever seen and a big solid 12 pointer, Actually a 13 pointer as there is a very small point in there. Tipped him over with a 100 plus year old W.J. Jeffery Mannlicher in 6.5x53R using 160gn RNSP. He was no more than 80/90 meters away with open sights and he went only 30 or so meters. Very impressed with the 6.5x53R, very potent round.

Very nice red indeed and with a beauty of a rifle in a ripper cartridge. I also have a Jeffery Mannlicher similar to yours but with a straight grip. When they have those long barrels they balance just in front of the magazine and it makes them easy to carry. Well done.

Matt.

The rifle was borrowed, The owner is just about ready to move it on to me but it's like letting go of your first born. A little more pleading and it will be mine, all mine

Marvellous head!
Totally approve of the ordnance, rather fitting for a red stag of that calibre!
Cheers
