What are the views of the experienced members of the board on PAC of bull elephants hunts?
Leave well alone for the inexperienced hunter or make sure you get 5 ph as backup?

Thanks

Arnold

If you want to hunt elephant, go and do it. One PH for backup is plenty. The only to get experience hunting elephant is to hunt them, so I do not understand the argument sometimes articulated that one needs more experience before going after elephant.

A bull will be relatively easy compared to sneaking into a herd of cows and calves (elephant), shooting a particular cow that you want, and then sneaking back out without any of the cows coming after you.

Where are you thinking of a PAC hunt?

I am not an experienced elephant hunter, but I would not hesitate to book a PAC bull ele hunt if I had the money, and the hunt promised to be rewarding.

Ivory can not be brought back into Australia anyway so this is a good way to hunt a tusker (or not) much cheaper and also not have to worry about the ivory.

Many PAC hunts are also crop raiders and if hunted in daylight what is the difference to a normal hunt?

The night hunts could be fun though!

NE450No2 did some elephant hunting last year--bagged three of them. I saw his video at the DRSS hunt not long ago. I'm not sure if they were PAC hunts or not. I believe he's going back in '06 for more elephant and I think he said he wants to get five or six of them this time.

Maybe he'll chime in and post some more info for you.
