I have one! A 6.5x54 mm I believe which was cut back or modified from a military rifle into a Stutzen styled rifle with a butterknife bolt handle.
But I know little about the original rifle. Were they Greek military rifles? What did they look like? And any other details. Thanks.

Briefly, the Mannlicher Schönauer 'sporting rifles' and the '1903 Greek' or Y1903 have shared roots in the M1900. Original Steyr built (not 'English' or other custom shop jobs) M1900 rifles were prototypes made and marketed in effort to obtain desirable and lucrative military contracts.
Due to their high cost and other factors, the only significant contract awarded to the MS was with Greece in 1903. The Y1903, Y1903-14, and other 'Greek' MS have this contract as their shared origin.
There seems to be disagreement among some, but it is said that all 'M1900' Mannlicher Schönauer rifles and carbines are actually modified military prototypes or barreled actions. It was only after the Greek contract had been awarded that the Mannlicher Schönauer sporting rifles went into production at Steyr for the civilian market.
It could be said that the Mannlicher Schönauer M1903, M1905, M1908, M1910, M1924 are refined, cultured, siblings of the Y1903 and other 'Greek' variants. The internal parts of the M1903 and the 'Greek' rifles are completely interchangeable.
Some photos: Greek MS
Here is a lengthy (over 1 hour) and (very) detailed video regarding the 'Greek' MS with lots of history and background. He actually gets to the Mannlicher Schönauer itself (M1900) at ten minutes in and brings out the 1903 at 22:30, the 1903/14 at 33:45, Carbine (1903, 1930) at 39:20, the 'Breda' at 47:07, more about the 1930 Carbine at 48:21, and at 54:55 Mae "can't believe it's not butter". - Greek MS Video

I was given a Y1903/14 Greek Mannlicher, it was a WW II vet bring back from Italy. Vet said it came sporterized, when he picked it up. It has a WJ Jeffery Queen Victoria Street London barrel. Cal 6.5 Nitro Proved, sighted and shot by WJ Jeffery.Stock is the cut down military with nice tiger striped walnut with the Greek markings. It has a barrel band sling eye , hooded front sight and one standing w/ two folding rear sight leaves. Carries nice, shoots ok,the action smooth as butter. Only thing I did was have the knobed bolt handle changed to the butterknife commercial type. Would like to find the old Lyman 36 peep sight that goes on the bolt release.

I found a Lyman 36 on ebay a few years ago. Be prepared to pay dearly for one.

How does she go? I see it has a bolt handle of M1952 style (or close to it).
Looks like a dandy shooter - short, handy, and with available off the shelf ammo.
Should be a joy to handle and to shoot!

I have 2 of these, 1 is very similar to the one you have John, the other is a system 30 which I have had rebarreled by TSE, it now has a .264 barrel, i also have a new stock made by Cameron Hatcher for it . I've had a long hiatus from shooting but interest is starting to rekindle so I may have to dust off that project.
