Evolution USA double rifles?
      #32118 - 27/05/05 06:28 AM

Does any body have any experience with these things. It's the first I've heard of them. They make a 9.4x74r for around 4k usd. Kind of convinient for us Yankies.

I'll be going by there in a week on my way to Montana. I think I will drop in and have a look-see...

Supposedly they are made on a Chapuis action.

Although I don't know how much they claim to "make" of them, most of the one pictured is clearly a Chapuis.

I doubt that he's changed is prices in a while... his big bore prices seem to reflect a more favorable exchange rate, although Chaddick's list the 9.3 at about 5500.

I'd call and confirm the pricing before i went too far out of my way to see one.

Call Dale Nygaard below and ask him to price you a Chapuis for comparison to the other two.

In reply to:

The Holland Bros. would be very proud of these modern masterpieces

Once again I have to ask. Who the Hell are the Holland Bros.? Why would they be pround of a Chapuis action?

That was exactly my thought.

Why the hell Holland (I am assuming they were thinking of Holland & Holland)
would be proud of these things is beyond me.

Holland would not even look twice at them.

In fact, I think if you walkd into the H&H show room with one, they'd .......
my mind boggles at them trying to make a comparison to one the top
BEST GUN makers around.

In fact, it would make me extremely wary of what they are selling
- if a product doesn't stand on it's own 2 feet, stay away from it.

Maybe Irving and Milton Holland started the Company? That would explain why they are proud.

The thought of an Franmerican DR doesn't interest me...

I would have thought advertising them as Holland and Holland styled isn't too far from trademark infringement.

Actually he has not advertised them as a Holand but simply stated, " Holland Brothers would be proud ". No infringement has occured. A lot of gun makers will advertise their that their guns as having Holland style locks. Once again, no infringement.

In this case, the gun doesnt even have H&H locks, so there is even less to be proud of :P Maybe they can make a boxlock over/under the Boss Sistser can be proud of right! lol

The Boss Sisters are proud of the Model 24 Savage. So I've been told anyway.
