BUFF FIGHTING SEQUENCE
Spotted a bull heading up a burnt floodplain. Chris was after him when a second was spotted coming in on a tangent to the first. As they got closer together the first bull charged the other from around 200m. the second bull didn't realise until they were only a few Metres apart.
He turned and took the impact, then it was on for young and old. Waited 30 years to see a fight and not disappointed.

Chris and Jezza won, bulls didn't react to the shots, both kept fighting until one weekend and broke away. Both went down near each other.

Chris 500BPE 440 woodies angry young bull

Jezza 9.3x62, unaware bull impact cuts above eye

Well done Mick, looks like a great trip. Plenty of buffs and the weather looks like it was pretty reasonable as well. Great looking country with some nice watering spots. Thanks for posting.

Matt.

Great trip Mick - all bloody jealous here!
Hydro lump front leg.....WOW, never though you could recover a hydro they just zing through?
Can you go over that particular part mate it really has me intrigued, what was the muzzle velocity as the faster they're pushed the better they work?

9.3x74 at 2350fps 286 gr hydro
Shot was around 130m running, mid body raking to the front left leg. Broke the leg and stopped under the skin. So velocity had dropped and a fair bit of gut before breaking the leg. Recovered three from bulls now. Also on this trip 40m front on in the neck full length of the body and stopping again in the rear leg under the skin. Bull ran straight at me and another at 15 same shot opposite side exited the rear leg. lots of penetration.
Ill post pics of recovered projectiles.
Cheers Mick

Well down Mick. A bloody excellent four days. You shot far more than we even saw over four days.

I like the one on the far right the best.

Amazing to see a good fight. The first buffalo I shot, the one with Matt Graham, was an hour it had a very brief scrap with another bull, but only one head butt. Then a sleep off in the water between the two, before the smaller bull left, and the older one immediately started eating again. This scrap of your bulls looks far more impressive. But the most impressive scrap I have seen was two elephant bulls having a head butt and pushing session back in Kenya in 1988. But too quick and over to get a photo back then.

Good photos of yours.

I assume this is a cow?

And then there was two ...

Lovely spot.

Thanks for posting.
