They are a really cool animal to hunt..incredibly wary .. run like the devil once they get stirred up a bit..

Thanks for the heads up on them. For me the real cool bit is they can take on a lion and win.

41"bull is one heck of a bull..CONGRATS on that...
As to the comment of taking on a lion, a PH told me once he saw a female take on one..lioness got skewered ..not sure if it was bs or not, but claimed he saw it..

Thank you RIP, since then I have guided on a few & had some close shaves on wounded Bulls in thick thorn country we have on our concessions, one bull backed down a Warthog hole & layed his horns back then erupted out on to us, my tracker saved me/us on that one as he was on the tracks really well & spotted him first, Im looking up for the wounded or charging animal !
This guy is from the more open Namibian MT

Ripp I have heard the taking on lions from a few different sources. Normally when cornered.
Sarg, that is a good bull. I agree you certainly owe the tracker a couple of beers.

Yes hard country for sure, I booked a 14 day hunt to make sure I got at least a 38in bull, most guys said Nah cant do a 38-40in Bull, Cow maybe !
We shoot any Bull over 30in if he is showing age, but our guys want 10-12 species in 5 days lol !
On the Beers the Tracker was pretty happy I shot it in time & may have given me a Beer if he had one, as he was in front & would of taken the horn, lucky I like this guy as a couple of the others I might of been slower !
