I reckon it's a billy goat whose mother was once frightened by a buffalo!

The head is a domestic buffalo, the rear end is a Sambhar/Donkey. A hybrid...
The hill cattle and domestic buffalo in Kumaon are appreciably smaller than their lowland cousins, which make hill tigers appear much larger when on such kills.

PS. I have mates who make the annual Masheer fishing trip into Corbett country. I stress, I am not an agent, and if there is anyone interested in a non commercial trip....I can point you in the right direction.
