Interesting rifle & might be good for mounting on a quad for around the farm for pests, etc.

As for a lightweight hunting rifle.

I think it lacks the range capability (in .308) and I also think the accuracy sucks for a mountain rifle. Now, if the barrel was floated for improved accuracy, that might be a different scenario. A 'better' long range 150 or 165gr., like a Sierra Spitzer might work to 400yards or so.

My wife has a lightweight wood stocked Kimber in .308--shoots Nosler 165 Gr Accubonds, with 3 holes touching if I do my job at 100 yrds..very accurate little rifle..which she has used on more than one occasion taking elk anywhere from 360yds to a tad bit over 500yds..has a Zeiss Rapid Z 600 scope on it..great combo.

All this and I/we don't have to wait between shots for the barrel to cool nor any whining about the recoil of the .308 in a lightweight rifle..and she is 5'1..110lbs....guy needs to man-up a bit..

Yeah, was not that impressed myself...many other rifles out there that do an incredible job --

Also have a RIFLE'S INC. that will do similar chambered in 280AI..great shooting little rifle and very lightweight..rifle/scope/sling..6.3lbs

G'Day Fella's,

Thanks for sharing Ripp.

If Barrett made it, I imagine they are a very nice rifle.
But the way I look at rifles these days is, it's just an expensive Remington 700.

Here's something a little bit different, a "Steel Action" brand, Model HS rifle.
