Good call and you are right! My experience is that NO gun dealers of any provenance can be 100%.

FYI, that CSMC Rigby is actually over in the UK getting Re-proofed - at least it will be legitimately re-proofed.

Reckon it was re-chambered from 450 to .470??

Would there be enough metal to re chamber / rebore from
anything smaller ????

FYI, I have nothing against rebored / rechambered English guns as long as they
have been proofed in the UK. THe price would always be less than an absolutely
perfect original but they are still a perfectly good, usable gun.

You are spot on with that assessment - Re-proofed in UK is as good as it needs to be.

But, the recent "re-bores" are being posted at prices that are on par wih original guns....That's my issue with the whole thing.

WELL SAID.

I have never been able to work out how you have such large variations
in the prices of gun over in the US, particularly English guns.
That is when you compare true Apples with Apples.
