I may be wrong but it was my understanding that the standard velocity for the 500NE was 2150 out of 26 inch barrels. Where most are built with 24 inchers (as my Searcy is) today.

510wells, what load is regulating in your searcy?

500grains, thanks for the added info. I am doing everything that you said other than using different bullets. I really like woodleigh's and my rifle was apparently regulated with them so I'll stick to them.

It's 110 gr. IMR4831 per Butch (Searcy) and cronos at 2008 FPS (avg). It's about 1 inch apart at 50 yards and right on in elevation at that distance. Butch regulates to cross at 75 yards but I haven't tried it at that distance. And haven't played with other powders and loads (yet).

I do know one thing though, a 500 is My max for recoil So less would be better and am hoping a H4350 load has reduced recoil as some have claimed, though Butch says, --- , aah well, I'll let you guess what he says

It would be hard to find a nicer guy though...
