Watch: Micro-Size Double Barrel Shotgun — That Fires!

I'm betting ammo ain't cheap for this tiny shotgun.
Posted 5 days ago in Shooting, Videos by Russ Chastain

I love me some guns. As my late father used to say, “If it shoots, I like it!” But of course, I like some guns more than others.

Practicality is one concern. If a gun isn’t useful, then its value is debatable. Some folks love guns as wall-hangers or play-pretties, but others want them to be “shooters.”

Well, here’s one that does both. Sort of.

It’s a teeny double-barrel side-by-side break-action gun with exposed hammers, like old “rabbit-ear” muzzleloading and breech loading shotguns from way back when. It goes together just like those old guns, it opens via the same top-mounted lever, it is cocked in the same way, and it even has dual triggers. When the triggers are pulled, the hammers fall and fire the ammo inside.

The difference is, this one is no more than 6 or 7 inches long!

Watch as this shotgun is assembled, loaded, and fired. Turn down the sound (there’s some obnoxious radio playing nearby) and enjoy. But try not to be too distracted by his looong pinkie fingernails.

I wish I could tell you where to buy one of these little jewels, but alas, I cannot. If anyone knows, please post in the comments below.

If memory serves, Purdey made some of these, at least one of which was owned by the Royal Family. Apparently it was good for shooting moths in the long winter nights.......

I wonder what the cartridge is. Looks smaller than a .22?

but this seems smaller so thinking the cartridge is a homemade job

Makes you wonder how it could be done doesn't it being so small!
All parts made by hand - would certainly be a project that's for sure!

Hello Nitrox,

a gunsmith in Switzerland made and makes some weapon miniatures of correctly sized-down scale.
He made also live ammunition (also correctly sized down)for some of these "weapons" so that the proud owner could fire some shots!

Here is a link to the company of Mr. Leon Crottet:
http://www.waffen-crottet.ch/

Please go to the menue point "Modellwaffen" => "frühere Arbeiten" and select a weapon model.

In the menue point "Portrait" => "Veröffentlichungen" you see a display of wepons magazines. Click on a gun magazine for more pictures in comparism of model to original.

The model guns are only available in very low numbers (normally three guns) and cost about 30.000 SFR (heresay 15 years ago...).

Highlights (at least for me)are the Parabellum-Pistolenkarabiner 1902, the Fallschirmjägergewehr FG42 and the semi-automatic Kar43 in the sniper version with scaled down optic!

best regards
Rolf
