What optics would you want on your
double? I had some strange things
happen with my West German Zeiss.
I moved it a few clicks and it would
jump as if I had moved it 4 inches.
The next adjustment moved as it should.
I had this problem with the Zeiss
Conquest on another rifle and lost
confidence with it. Has anyone else
had this trouble? What was your fix?
Thanks in advance.

Ken, All three barrel sets came with Zeiss Diavari 1.5-6 power scopes. I've shot all of them and moved them a click at a time and they all seem to work well. I like them and would buy them again and put them on my doubles again.

I also had problems with a z series ziess. I've also had problems with Savarski and Leupold. At least the Leupold was fixed fast.

So far my two schmit and benders work very well. I've never had a hicup and I've beaten them to near death. I have a 1.5-6x42 and a 3-12x50, Both have been on weatherby mags, 300, 340 and 416. They work great.

I don't know if this will help but when I want to adjust a scope if I want to move the sights 2 inches to the right I actually move them 4 inches right and then back 2 inches to the left.

I remember reading about this method a long time ago and have always used it without any problem.

Foxfire:
This is the same scope I am having
the problem with. I have confidence
that once it is set it is ok. That
being said it still concerns me. I
want NO concerns on my double.

If I had to resight at camp how many
rounds would it take?

The Zeiss Diavari are great scopes, as are the Swarovs, leupolds are good too (but not as bright as the other two).

I've owned/own all three brands and the only ones i've had problems with have been the leupolds (I'd say 2 of the 6 or so I've owned have been sent back), but to their credit - all problems were quickly resolved by leupold.

Ken - Send the zeiss in for a "checkup" - if you still don't have faith in it, get another scope for the double and either sell or put the problem zeiss on another gun. I understand how important 100% confidence equipment is.
