Ruger extractor
      #29339 - 12/04/05 10:27 AM

I have recently bought a Ruger 77RSM in .375 and while at the range this week I had several Federal 300gr. cartridges fail to eject. Has anyone had this problem before and do you have any suggestions. It was not every time but I'm thinking I should send it back to Ruger for the fix.

I've had an RSM 375 H&H for a number of years now and have not had any ejection problems. Have you checked out your ejector? Is it able to pop up and down? It goes down when the round is chambered and should pop up to hit the base of the cartridge case as it is in the rearward mode. I don't think it is your extractor as you wouldn't be able to chamber a round if it wasn't working. Another thing, are you working the bolt briskly or are you gingerly pulling it back? You should take your RSM back to the toyshop you bought it from and let those guys look at it if they know anything about CRF's and see if it needs to be sent back to Ruger.
