Congratulations to Bruce.

A nice head for a first one too. Doesn't look huge but I wouldn't turn him down if I saw him. What length?

Tell more - calibre and bullet etc - if you know. Thanks.

Here is some of B`s email--i edited out the exact place that he took the stag--unfair you say haha?
I`m hoping that he will submit a story of his hunt for us.

I was put onto him by Small Stick Good Aim from the ADA forum. He said that he had seen a 26" in there last year. I figured that would do. I found a heap of spoor and game trails in there, no rubs though which is supriseing considering he had eucalyptus bark all over his antlers. Found some fresh spoor and slowed down to a very slow wander through the woodland. Came over a spurline in the creek system in there, on the other side of the spur about 150m there was was the most rewarding thing I have seen in years! I looked at him just to make sure it was not an apperition, then thought I had better pull my finger out and shoot it. He dropped with one shot, 7 mm Rem Mag 175 Grn Rem Cor-Lokt Factory rounds.

Anne they are big boys though the one in the photo is only young and quite small as far as big,i have posted a pic of a mature stag in case you missed it previously,it shows how big and bulky they are.

Gryphon

Each time you post that picture .........

He is a magnificient beast.

As a guess I wonder how many this size would be taken in a year? 2 or 3 ?

G'day Fellas,

Well Grypho' said that he had posted my pic's of my first stag up here. Looks good on the net! There aint that much more to add to the story. I'm sure most of you know how much work needs to be put in before you shoot your first stag. The place I shot this one is a very closely gaurded secret, coz I want his bigger brother! But suffice to say it don't take long to get there from my place.

Bruce....

Bruce

Hopefully the first of many. Especially that "big brother" you mention.
