470 NE and Cast Bullets

Anyone interested in shooting cast bullets in their 470?

I shoot the Cast Performance heat treated slugs with great success.

I use a 500 grain FPGC projectile cast with a mold from Ballisti-Cast, using 40-45 grains of XMR 5744 and WLR primers in a Searcy Field Grade gun.

Works great!

What sort of ballistics are you getting? Mine are as follows:

375 LFNGC at approx. 2200 for about 4100 ft./lbs.
425 WFNGC at approx. 2300 for about 4900 ft./lbs.

These velocities were required to regulate. I love loading and shoting cast bullets. They are sooo much cheaper. And real easy on the gun as they obture(sp) much easier that copper bullets.
