New (to me) BSA Commercial Lee
      #290518 - 19/11/16 10:37 AM

For my first post, I thought I'd post a few pics of a BSA Lee I recently picked up. From what I've gathered, it's a later manufactured gun......and appears to be a No 2 Pattern...but lacks any engraving.

This forum is a wealth of knowledge, and I'm appreciative of any input or information about this rifle.

Thanks,
Bob

Very nice indeed. I have one almost identical, but with the charger guide fitted, which was listed as an option. Mine is also missing the front sight hood.

Hi Bob,

A really wonderful find, you must be thrilled...VERY well done indeed.

I have a No2 (in 8mm) that also has no engraving.

A stunning rifle you should rightly be very proud of, thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Roy

Beautiful rifle in a lovely but loved condition. One question though, does it have a safety and if so where would it be.

The only safety is the half cock notch on the cocking piece/striker

There doesn't appear to be a safety on this one.

If it did have a safety it would withe be

A safety on the cocking piece.
A sliding safety (i.e. like those on shotguns).
Or a SMLE style on the left side.

Can't see either on this one, which is not unusual.

Cheerio,

Roy

Very similar to my BSA custom shop 303Brit , rifle . Mine has the safety on the cocking piece a schnable for end and a raised comb stock.
Same engraving on the barrel and the 5 shot round bottom magazine . Has some engraving .
It has a side mounted scope and a early Pecar scope.

Single stage trigger , which for some reason makes the bolt mounted safety not work correctly.
