Selous Rifle Actions
      #288153 - 21/09/16 10:29 AM

Hi Guys,

Just after a bit of info on an action I'm selling for my mate.

It's a big lump of metal, a double square bridge Mauser with controlled feed

The bolt face looks to be about 18mm in diameter

I have looked on the internet but there is not much info on the Selous Gun Company

Cheers

The Falcon

Nice looking action. These were made by Vektor in Sth Africa. Some were sold at a quite reasonable price here, by Kudu Services in Melbourne a few years ago.

How much are you asking for it?

Cheers, Chris

Hi Guys,

Thanks for that, I'm a fiend for Mauser 66s. I have a 66s in .308 fpr a lot of my hunting, an SP 66 in .270 which is a beautiful snipers rifle and now a 66 in 375 H & H.

My mate was going to build a .450 Rigby with it but is always overseas. He wants $3,500 for it

Cheers

MF

I had the same thoughts on the price. They are good actions but given you can buy a ZKK602 for not much more than a $1000 and use that for a magnum build then the price is at a big premium. Just my humble opinion.

Hey I agree guys but it's not mine.

My mate has bought a lot of stuff and put it away, like a M77 Ruger in .308 with a serial No 763, that went in a flash!

He said it cost him nearly $5k years ago. I can't find a price anywhere on the net for this action. If I can then maybe I can talk him down

Cheers

MF

I think the ones from Kudu were less than 2k IIRC.

Hard to compete with the the likes of Montana Rifle Co etc. these days unless you really want an expensive custom rifle.

It is cheaper than a GMA delivered here.

Cheers, Chris

Thanks. It was a while ago and I was OS and too late to enquire. Thought they were cheap at the time.

Still cheaper than bringing in a GMA.

And a complete fucktard to boot. Rude, arrogant, ignorant, stupid and fancies himself as some sort of super engineer/gunsmith. Regularly advertises guns at a certain price and than when you go to his festering shithole of a store to have a look at it, the price tag is higher often by quite a bit. Then when you point it out he cracks the shits and gets abusive. Unfortunately he has a lot of very nice guns but always way overpriced. I actually don't know anybody who has anything good to say about him, certainly not many on google reviews, which makes for interesting reading. He needs to be kicked to death IMHO.

Its a shame that firearms dealers (most of) dont stop to listen to their customers as we are those that float their businesses

Yeah thats him ,vote with my feet and didnt go there again ,seems to be alot of ''Attitude'' at Gunshops these days, admittedly they have to deal with wankers who go out of there way to be dickheads ,but why take it back out on other customers who just want to do business with them ? .Like some other ''Gay'' dealer with a name sounding the same Gunshop owner, who was smart arse every time i called him ,ordered a 505 LW barrel from him and never heard back from the dickhead ,voted again with my feet didnt go there again,Cleavers also have one dedicated smart arse who needs a good smack in the head to teach him some manners ,wont go there again either .

perhaps we should have a dedicated "goose gunshop owners " thread as there seems to be a few of them out there.
