Had one of these and it worked well however appears to be playing up. I will try and get it fixed however would appreciate what others here use. The P7 is about 6 inches long and that is the approx size that I want.
Any thoughts appreciated. Rick

bought one on the strength of a kiwi mates in NZ,I was impressed and got one, mine effed up from not being a robust build, wiring too light etc. They are a well known name but a bit shoddy for the blokes that put them to use imo. There are 100`s of better for a third of the price online and I dont pay anymore then 30 bucks. I still have the pouch!

My experience with that brand is the same as Gryphons. Some of the led lenser torches put out a really bright light, but the build quality is not all that good.

Ive been researching LEDs lights for a while now, there are so many brands out there its confusing. but FENIX seems to constantly get many positive user reviews...yes it chinese made but people say its far from being rubbish like some others. I m deliberating over Fenix and Nitecore.....Led Lenser and Surefire are way overpriced for what you get. Fenix and Nitecores offer better value ,have top quality Cree LEDs, hard anodising, high grade alloy bodies, and anti reflective coated glass. they are ANSI brightness rated but i heard some nitecores fall well short of advertised lumens..but 800 lumens is still more than I really need despite it being advertised as 1000 L...overall any such nitecore may still be very good if you are not an obsessed with numbers lumen freak.

My P7 has started acting up too - first time I dropped in onto the lawn from about 2m above ground level, it didn't work after that until I pulled it apart and investigated. I don't use the torch all that often and the batteries had begun leaking - there was deposit/corrosion on the copper springs and plates that make contact with the batteries. There was also signs of corrosion on the spring loaded pins and plate that connect the battery housing to the main assembly.
I wiped everything off with a rag and WD40. It worked okay again after that (with new batteries).
A few weeks later I accidentally knocked it off the bedroom table onto the carpet and it stopped working again. This time I had to concentrate on working the spring loaded pins just by spraying in some WD40 and working the pins in and out.
