Comment: Very, very rare commercial magnum Mauser in .416 Rigby built for an Aussie farmer in 1956 by the German retailers, Waffen Frankonia - Wurzburg, the Cabela’s of Europe. Barrel is marked as such. Rifle was original Rigby-style and had shot one box of ammo when Col Allison bought it and had it lovingly refurbished. All metalwork by Rob Blomfield of Sunshine Coast Gunsmithing. Features drop magazine, push-button floorplate, Model 70-style safety, express sights and barrel-band sling swivel. Barrel carries a threaded cap when the Holland & Holland muzzle brake is not in use.

Stock wood is selected exhibition grade, dense Turkish Circassian walnut in very rare and bold tiger-striped pattern on both sides. The blank was held by Col for 40 years waiting for the appropriate big rifle. Classic Ross Waghorn stock with buff horn fore-end steel grip cap and gold butt shield (no initials) with Decelerator pad. LOP: 14-1/2 inches. Plain original stock available if required.
Scope is Leupold VX-111 illuminated, 1.5-5 x 20m in Talley QD mounts. Comes with RCBS dies, 38 new cases loaded with Woodleigh solids and SN SF pills, plus 12 unloaded cases and a small selection of Woodleigh projectiles. Shoots just over ˝ MOA at 100 yards.

That's a nice looking rifle except for the H&H Muzzle Brake! Must have missed those on the H&H website!

Ross Waghorn does very nice work.

Thanks for posting.

Yes that raised my eyebrows also..but I wasnt going to comment on the MB as I probably would have been shot down with " H+H have included them as an option for a 1000 years"

Perhaps its one from this mob...truth in advertising?

I had a look for H+H muzzle brakes but couldn't find any at all.
Maybe I didnt look hard enough but one would think that The House of H+H wouldnt put one of those effing ugly things on one of their guns"

''Rare Commercial Magnum Mauser action'' ,makes it more appealing ...............rather than an ''opened up ''regular action

Possible not. Col has never been one to let lack of embellishments stifle a story.

That is a nice looking rifle, but the price has one too many digits before the decimal place for me.

500Boswell how can you tell it is an opened up action. Not being smart just a desire to learn.

Yep the muzzle break was an addition for pussies ... don't like it at all and why necessary on a .416 Rigby?

Could have been worse. Imagine threaded for silencer...

Nice rifle but don't like muzzle breaks.
