Beautiful videos. (paragraph deleted)
What amazes me most is the use of Blaser that are often consider unsafe? I ask 3 PH about Blaser. They told me that as the client is shooting few shots, statistically the risk remains manageable as long as the camp has a back-up rifle (Bron, CZ,....). Also, I am adverse to Kersten lock, IMHO it slows the speed when reloading, but my humble opinion.
Sorry for being a tad negative, but I appreciate these videos

I'm trying not to be too pedantic, but the crossbolt on that DR is a Greener, not a Kersten. I have Kersten crossbolts on all of my Krieghoff O/U DR's, and, coupled with ejectors, they present no problem at all in reloading, at least as far as I'm concerned.
My Krieghoff Teck .458 Winchester Magnum over and under double rifle.

I met Peter Dafner in Schweinfurt in Bavaria a few years ago at the Heym International Shoot where he was also a guest and a presenter.
Dafner is German and an outfitter and PH in Africa. He was a nice guy and friendly and personable. From our brief meeting he seemed an ethical guy.
I am assuming the Double Rifle in the videos is a Heym. Nicely engraved sidelocks too. If not please correct. I can ask Peter anyway.
What does the calibre/cartridge look like?
The videos are promotional videos, but nicely filmed, very professional, and also enjoyable for the scenes of Africa. The reason I posted them.
I don't know why the choice of a Blaser. Each to their own. I am guessing he usually carries the other rifle as a back up gun in dangerous game territory.
I have had PHs who used a Remington 700 (in .416 Rem) as it was left handed, another who used a .458 Win Mag in a non-controlled feed Winchester Model 70. This PH also had other rifles though stored in Tanzania. We were hunting in Zimbabwe. A lot of rifles do the work when required. Use and familiarity of a rifle I think is more important than the client search for the "perfect" rifle.
I do prefer Mauser 98's myself though. But will probably use a Mauser M03 on my next hunt for water buffalo or in Africa.

John, yes it looks like a Heym sidelock, and the cartridges look like 500NE. A very nice double for sure. It's interesting that it has ported barrels.
I agree that the videos are nicely done.

Yes, it is an .500 NE and an Heym. It is an 88 safari, super luxus boxlock (they have real sidelocks too) with "blades" for more engraving. Peter dont like sidelocks, because he see that the wood of the sidelocks aber to weak for an hard use in Afrika (in the summer he is there more than 4 months in an row).
Best wishes.
