Return to Cameroon

"Soon we return to the incredible rainforest areas of Cameroon in search of the magical Bongo, Sitatunga ghost, funny duikers and the majestic elephant."

Excellent video worth watching.

Great vid.

I'm booked with them in 2017 for Lord Darby Eland/Buff and 2018 for Bongo/Ele. Guav Johnston as PH for both.

I'm more then a little intimidated by the rain forest.

Still trying to figure out what rifles to bring ....

What excellent hunts they would be.

The forest looked to be crawling with bugs ...

I think the Heym .375 double rifle in the video looked more than useful.

If I had a nice lightest well balanced double .375 and it worked and shot well, I would probably start to use it on almost everything ...

I would love to hunt bongo in Central Africa one day, not to mention Lord Derby Eland, Buffalo etc. It would be a dream hunt.

Ironically my hunting buddy and I are currently in discussions for hunting there as well..agree, think it would be a great adventure...I plan to use my Sako in 375 H&H..flat enough, big enough for anything I encounter there...

Funny : I didn't get news from Herve Houdebine the PH, and right now got an email from him.
Bonjour Jean Bernard,

Translation :
Happy to get news from You from Your friend Dan with whom I hunted a couples of weeks ago, a good hunter with plenty of humour. I am also getting news by our common friend, Michel Vaillier the taxidermist. Still 9 years since our last safari in the CAR.
The 460 Wheatherby You gave me has had its butt changed for a synthetic one. Passing from the wet South to dry North of Cameroon ruined the OEM wooden butt. Definitely this rifle is my life saver, a formidable weapon albeit a bit brutal, remaining You who's the boss.
My wife Gisela, as well as my daughters Bria and Lola are fine.
I appreciate your picture bearing a pseudo leopard, in fact my bitch, Veni.
Right now I am going back to the equatorial forest, I sent You an invitation on FB. Regards.
