Gentleman
I looks like I'm about to own my first double rifle. I have won a bid on a 2003 model, Merkel 140-2 470 Nitro. Gun is in 99% condition, with approximately 30 shots fired. It apprears to have shoe lump barrels in the pictures.
Do any of you have any experience with these 2003 vintage guns? Are they as good, or better than the newer ones?
I'm paying $6750.00 for it, so I think I got a decent deal.
Thoughts?

Congratulations the price for the condition you describe is very good IMHO.

As you can see, I got my Merkel 470 today! She is everything she was advertised to be. Lock up is still as tight as if new. Not a scratch anywhere. Think I did pretty well, for $6750.00.
