The proper - is the such a thing under these circumstances --- words escape me. 1st I've heard of this attack.

Incredibly fortunate there were 2 men in that tent. That black bear turned predator the instant he heard Paul yell "BEAR", and went for a killing neck bite after Paul down to his level - which is typical behaviour, I've been taught.
