Personally I think he wants way too much money for it.

the 450 is close to his asking price but the caliber is driving that. The .275's are estimated way cheaper even if high estimate is used.

I had one cased in .303 Takedown I wanted to sell for $9000. Nobody wanted it for that kind of money. I ented up Trading it for a modern made Mauser.(Tradevalue $6000).

I shot the rifle and they feed and shoot great. John Rigby was sitting in the commission who were behind the development of the .303 so if one were to have a Rigbymauser a .303 couldnīt become more Rigby. If I again should have a smallbore Rigby a .303 would in my optics be the only right caliber.
Itīs difficult to say if that gun linked to is too expensive. Only some 48 Rigbys were made in .303 if I recall correct. I know some people will say there is made at least a 100 but regardsless of what they are rare and if you feel its worth it I wonīt be standing in your way.

For the real Rigby collector a James Street adress is more attractive than a Sackwill adress.

Make a choice!.

Nice rifle, but I agree - highly overpriced, probably by 1/2 or more. I should add, I find most guns listed for sale to be way too highly priced, auction or private.

I have not seen a Rigby rifle for under 10k in a few years, speaking with a few guys in that industry, they say it's getting more expensive to get them to the U.S and the margins are pretty thin, so I think it's at least a 10k rifle.

That 450 looks like it was built on a Brno 602 action ?

Unfortunately the OP link says the rifle is sold.

I wish I had $7,000 Aust$ to play with. One of the 275 would be coming to Australia.

pjain, nice rifle.

The first few (five?) Rigby 450's were built by Paul Roberts on Brno 602 actions.

Ageed they are very rare, but only original ones are collectable. = premium price

If they are refurbished, let alone the bolt being molested, as this one, then No Thanks. Price IMO is round USD 5500

Having seen and handled pjain's (Paul) Rigby 303, I can attest to the fact that it is the best original and unmolested 303 I have ever seen. I owned a St James's St. address one that was pretty close to that condition.
