Has anyone ever seen this Mauser plaque or know anything about it? Its approximately 8" long, 5 3/4" wide and about 1 1/4" thick.

Have not seen one of these before. It looks like the image on Speed's book, so maybe it was advertising of the period for display in gun stores? Whatever it is, it's a cool thing to have.

Recent promotional merchandize by the now "Mauser" company, not Oberndorf any more.

It can't be too old since it is laser engraved.

It looks to me like its just ink printed (lithograph?)and then coated with some sort of oil...It doesn't look like a laser engraved image. It might be older than you think.
If anyone ever sees another one or has any solid information about when it was made, please let me know. Thanks.

Of course, this seems very probable but what precisely do you mean by the word "recent"? Do have any date in mind?

Certainly post 1999, when Lüke & Ortmeier, L&O Holding, took over "Mauser". Most likely at least three years later, when they started to refer to the pre-war Mauser tradition again , introducing the M03. Maybe as new as last year. L&O Holding now owns these gunmakers: Blaser Jagdwaffen GmbH, Isny im Allgäu J. P. Sauer & Sohn, Isny im Allgäu SIG Sauer Inc., Exeter, New Hampshire, USA Mauser Jagdwaffen GmbH , Isny im Allgäu SIG Sauer GmbH & Co. KG, Eckernförde John Rigby & Co., London SAN SWISS ARMS AG, Neuhausen am Rheinfall GSG – German Sport Guns besides another dozen fibre making companies worldwide.
