Forend lever release mechanics?

I have to make a new forend for my project barrels and started copying the Anson style pushbutton type on my AyA shotgun 'donor'. Seems I've read the lever type is most used on double rifles but can't find any pics of the inner mechanics. Some attractive pics of the outside! Any ideas or references? Bill

After a long search, looks like this is the best I could come up with. Appears the barrel portion is just a notch, and the lever's circular end merely cams the forend back against the action. Seems pretty simple.....unless I'm missing something!

The rear face of the loop (acting on the rear of the slot in the forend iron) is what holds the forend back against the knuckle.
The cam on the forend latch simply holds the forend hard up beneath the barrels so the rear face of the loop can do its job.

But you're right: it is pretty simple!
