with a bunch of Mauser features added in. Built in a style that is not my typical showing much more American influence than most of my stocks.

I like it to - looks to be enough drop so you don't have to crawl and crunch to see the scope - not sure about the irons, though.
I like their design, but maybe the comb is a bit high for them? It is hard to feel from a picture.
Very nice looking though and a nice piece of walnut which appears to be fairly hard.

Very nice engraving, do you have anymore pictures of the floor plate and the trigger guard.

Beautiful.

Did I miss what caliber it's in?

Most rifles don't look right to my eye without a barrel mounted sling swivel, this is one of the exceptions!

Cheers

Very interesting rifle. The Mauser bolt stop/release is unexpected and a lot cleaner looking.Whoever built this rifle is quite competent. The bottom metal and engraving as well the inletting that I can see in the pics are of high quality. Very nice custom Spingfield. I like the shape of the stock even if some may find it has too much drop for scope use. The '06 cartridge does not have much kick anyways. If the safety lug was ground off and a longer extractor was fitted it could be mistaken for a Mauser.(OK from a distance).

......."Whoever built this rifle is quite competent" Rather a understatement.

Is there a peep hidden in that square bridge Steven ??? I am glad to see a scope on it, I think when I handled it, it was slated for a aperture.

Caprivi,
I did the bolt stop conversion on two actions. The rifle pictured was always planned to be scoped, though I had initially planed to cut the rear bridge for a scope base and changed my mind and went G&H style. The peep sighted action you saw was my personal project. It is still in process and far behind this rifle.

The rifle pictured is in .30/06 with a 26" barrel

Steve
