I was surprised at how quickly it happens. Especially with the overbore cartridges..amazing..

Yes me too! I was talking to a BR shooter late last year, and he brought me up to speed on this. Basically saying, the first shot you fire, will be one shot closer to that barrels accuracy demise! Makes sense, when you think about it but as we already know, Heat is still the biggest contributor to barrel life/erosion.
