Griffs pics
      #262437 - 18/03/15 09:26 AM

The stag beat me hands down in the undergrowth but I got a few fox pics after a pair were spotted climbing in and over an old growth willow down on the river..The spoonbill stood long enough also for a series of pics.

And one for the OS members.

Beautiful 'shots'- especialy the Egret-type bird. Those black feathers at his butt would make special spey fly hackle, but there are not enough of them. NOT suggesting anything by this, just saying. Beautiful clarity and focus. Are his frontal neck feathers of spey-fly quality? The appear from this angle to be the same as the sides and back of the neck.

How the heck did you get a spoonbill to stand still? They're always nose down walking real fast through the shallows whenever i see them haha. Love watching them though.

Gryph

You're a pro, incredible?

I am familiar only with the red fox. I suppose they are rare and kept low for not hurting your indigenous game?

They're unfortunately everywhere (mind you, they are fun to hunt), and are a pain on the native wildlife. Not as bad as feral cats though.

Sent you an email by the Larcher

JG

I hope you manage to sell some of your photos for proper money. I know you have had shooting magazine covers etc, but with the right photos, you should make some money out of them. Dare to say this because we want to keep seeing them on here too.

John I had a pic "purloined"only last week by a friend of a friend that I had sent a pic to.I have resisted for a long time to watermark my pics, maybe I should!

NE will continue to get my pics as per usual.

Was this just using it on the web, or sending into a magazine? Accompanying an article etc?

Annoying when people pinch photos and do not acknowledge the source. A watermark which is unobtrusive (eg like the ones I use) are editable out by cropping. At least it makes them work a bit to steal photos. If obstrusive watermarks like some do, across the middle in a faded white, they spoil the photo and not worth looking at if this done.

I try to watermark any photos of mine or members loaded onto the NE servers by me as overtime, our photos here on NE end up on other forums and websites, 99% with ZERO acknowledgement of the source. Sometimes even dickheads claiming the photos are photos of their own guns - trolls. Or with watermarks from the "new" forums on what were photos collected here.

When I started the thread on the water buffalo hunt back in 2004 (?) I had people contacting me from Italy and elsewhere asking to use or supply photos for articles. My standard reply is always "How much are you being paid for them?" As they are usually paid for their articles and photos, why should anyone give them to them for free?

The internet and forums etc are different and of course only use low resolution graphics not full quality.

Got to get back into the writing game and selling photographs myself. Need the money for more hunting!

John the 'foaf'simply took the photo after it was sent to them and said "I'm going g to get it blown up and framed for my mantle"

I asked "what do I get out of that"

At least the copy was only 400ofd KBS and not the full res size.

One of the fox pics above has been requested for a mag cover.
So I get a snack for my toil.

One right royal fukn germ had a heap of my deer pics on his fb page.I was aalerted by a fb denizen as I don't do that effin shit my self. Eventually the illegal use was stopped...geezuz some people need a real life eh!
