An idea of distances in Australia for my European friends for when they visit.

Sorry don't have one for the USA.

TKS- really shows well - just how far everything is from each other- or how small Europe actually is.

I look after maintenance of our electrical network in North Queensland, 5 of us share the whole state except for the South East corner (Brisbane), not many customers you would say compared to probably anywhere else in the world, but I guess the area we'd each look after would be roughly the size of England.
One reason why I don't get out near as often as I'd like to & have a shot!

Wow the continent is huge they don't teach you that in school but most of the world map was painted red for empire as I remember. The map we had would be in a museum now as most of the place names have changed, Still Australia is vast.

Yep and not much over 20 million people in all that space, it's paradise for sure if like me you don't like crowds

Us Southernors have been trying to fill you up with millions of slanty eyes and musselmen for decades though.

Just a joke above, ie the language, but I would like the NT to stay empty too. It has already developed to a degree which is shocking. Where buffalo used to roam is now market gardens. In fifty years time, the wilderness and wildness will be gone, except for Aboriginal areas if we are lucky.
