Very nice. Really like the little chain of water drops from the heron's foot being reflected off the surface of the lake.
Thanks again for sharing.

That fish looks rather suprised at the events unfolding.

The good thing about the carp is the birds and bigger natives love them.

You take amazing photos, Gryphon. I'd love to take a walk with you some day (enjoy bird watching). I spent awhile one evening watching a king fisher dropping down and catching some species of fish i couldnt identify from the distance. Enjoyable way to spend the day.

Love the little guys. We've had 2 in the house because of the cat..fortunately we got them an released them. Stupid cats.

Raised a little honey eater (the ones no larger than a sparrow) from a ball of fluff to a flying adult, then let it go. We have great native birds.

Thanks for the photos. I think I'll have a lazy day fishing and watching the birds this weekend.

Cheers for the motivation,
Ash.

Doing the swamp today, I enjoyed watching this Purple Swamphen cooling off.

Do you use a tripod/rest, or just offhand these photos?

I use both, but the pod is a pain when the camera is on it's and a nice flying pose pic is happening..seems to happen all the time.there isn't really a substitute for a pod although I carry a monopod when stalking deer... Its a pita too!

Wondering about swamphen, they are quite plump, I know they are protected, but would they be edible? For example back in the colonial days when native birds caught be eaten.
