Last year i bought a Bushnell laser range finder for a cool $300 and tried it out .It was very accurate & quite useful for my mountain hunts. This year Bushnell has come out with a binocular and range finder combined(price not known)and it means an extra expense.Every time you buy something new and are happy with it the hunting industry comes up with another item which is even better or more useful and it goes on and on until you are completely out of pocket. Thats commercial enterprise for you.

Here in Aus the new Bino/rangefinder is about $1250AUD My 1000yd model is only good to about 450yds on roos about 700yds on trees, most of the time sometimes further, have managed to get 1100yds on a house.
Maybe you should get the Lieca bino/rangefinder seen them as low as $2500USD on USA web sites.

Ain't that the truth! Mines the Bushnell Pro 1000, been quite happy with it. But lo and behold they come out with binoculars with a rangefinder! Guess that'll be my next purchase. Wish I had the money that was spent on the other. But then again, it'd just be something else.

I tried out that combo bino/rangefinder from Bushnell, and the optics for use as a full time binocular aren't that great. I wouldn't spend the money on them. I think it's better to have two specialized pieces of equipment versus a trade-off in quality.

Thanks for the input on that. I'd a swore that would've been the way to go.

Here's another way of looking at it. Cabela's sells the Bushnell Rangefinding Binoculars for $599.99. The sell the Yardage Pro 1000 for $349.99. In essence you get a $250.00 pair of binoculars-not exactly high end stuff.
