Steyr Mannlicher on auction

There is a 6.5 Dutch 95 type with DST on one of the auction sites.
Since the receiver bottom around the trigger is identical to the MS is seems that DST on the 1895 would be more common. Anyway it is a first for me.
It looks like it might be a take down rifle

I don't know what to make of the areas on the rib infront and behind the sight leaves.
Did this rifle have some sort of ancient forward mounted scope because of the issue with the clips?

My bet is a George Gibbs retailed takedown judging by the forend, checkering pattern and rear sight.
The scope mounts are likely a forward facing claw for the front mount and some sort of Vienna attachment for the rear
so the scope tilts forward to dismount.
Buy it!

As soon as I saw this post,I new "the cat was out of the bag"! Went to hit the buy it now button-----too late. I'll bet there's a name under the soldered on scope base.

Can you tell us anything about the rifle?
What is the cover over the clip ejection port?
The firing pin nut appears to be one off of a GEW 88. At least I have never seen that nut style on an Dutch rifle.

If this rifle is a takedown, how are the barrels removed? There does not appear to be any catch on it.

I don't have the rifle yet.
I believe the forend is removed and the barrel simply unscrewed.
Pjaln here on NE has had these so maybe he can chime in if he sees this thread.
A big "Thank You" to Ireload2 for posting this as I have been wanting a Gibbs Steyr ever since I sold the plainer one I once owned.

You are very welcome. I found it to be an interesting rifle.
The scope mounts for a forward mounted scope appear to have been a way to cope with the clip loading design.
I have considered modifying one of my bubbafied Dutch rifles per the 1905 GEW 88 modification to permit direct loading of the rifle so I can use a scope mounted on the receiver.

On a G.Gibbs takedown the front screw, connecting magazine assembly to receiver ring, functions a the "catch". It has a cone-shaped point that goes through the receiver ring into a recess bored into the barrel threads, locking the barrel. To take down, you remove the forend, unscrew this screw a few turns. Then you simply unscrew the barrel. Here such a Gibbs Mannlicher is shown disassembled. In some of the photos you can see the backed-out screw.
