you got it? good price and I dont care for the claw mount base in the receiver. there is no problem!

9x57 is maybe the most underrated cartridge we have. it close the gap between 8x57 and 9,3x62 without problems and reloading is simple and easy be using 8x57 brass.

Luckily the auction ended, me beeing the final bidder ! I am more than happy with the reasonable pricing.
In fact in my opinion the 9x57 is the most versatile calibre in medium bore, especially as i am not eager for tremendous cicks. I use a custom rifle in the same calibre for daily use beside a 7 mm. Mauser, both on reasonable distances up to 150 y.

Would be interesting to see the proofmarks.
The good price makes it easier to fit an scope in an SEM..........

I will make some more photos as soon the rifle will arrive from seller and is in my hands. I asked him to send the photos I published the day before yesterday. There is not more to recognize. He told me the rifle should be of the early twenties, according to the shape of stock.

I will keep the question in my mind and answer it accordingly. For the time beeing I am overseas, it may take a couple of days.

Neat find.

I'm interested in the inletting at the barrel breech/action.

Looks rough and unlike the finish on the rest of the gun. Has it been restocked at some point and a rough job of fitting been done? Or maybe it chipped and somebody relieved it? Curious...

Great caliber and thanks for posting it, Herr Schwarz.

What makes me wondering are these parts of inletting:

yes, I wondered about this disfigurment as well.

Probably done during long time of former use, surely no object for rifle museums, but I don't mind about that.

I am more interested in the further active use of this working tool. I appreciate the true look of used items like this one seems to be.

Nonetheless all steel parts and the barrel inside has to be cleaned with solvants and polished, see attached photo:

It took a while to find a suitable scope. Today I succeeded in buying a Hensoldt Dural-Dialytan 4x with SEM . I will post the comleted gun after completion
