Bolt stop-release aperture sight
      #252221 - 16/08/14 10:18 AM

Some time back I saw a post on an aperture sight that fitted on the bolt stop of a mauser rifle (This is not the cocking piece sight). I was telling a friend about them and asked for more information but I can't remember were the thread was. Any others know about these sights as I would like to pass him some more detail.

VG:
Can't locate the Mauser thread, but here is a Mannlicher Schoenauer thread with said bolt-stop.

Hope this helps

That sounds like the Lyman 35. It is discussed in a thread here: http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Number=144764

Hard to find, and usually rather spendy, but they make a great hunting sight.

Jim

JMHO mind you, I just purchased a Turk barreled action and the first thing that hit me
was the bolt stop release it goes up and over and becomes part of the stripper. A perfect candidate
for an aperture? / is it too far away? To tell the truth I've never used a "peep" sight
so some impact from someone who has will be appreciated. --- John

I think I have seen some retro models for Mauser Wehrmann -diopter. They are a tad clever ones without needing any alternations for stock.
