Now the Chauvet cave is part of the Unesco world heritage. One can only marvel at the incredible well preserved 436 drawings dating back to 36 000 BC.
A pity these games aren't any longer roaming in Europe.

Very cool.

Makes you think about a lot.

The rhino looks like a hook-lipped version. The bulls look like ancestors of domestic cattle. The lions look like lions.

Wish we could see it in person but glad they are preserving it.

In Spain we have the Caves of Altamira also have a good example of cave paintings, but are closed to the public because they are so delicate and are so damaged from the thousands of tourists that once passed through the place that has been necessary to take this measure that will not degrade over.
