Looks like a staged attack to me - the lion was already dead before that bloke shot it for the video.
The lion on his left side laying under the hunter, with the lion's left leg sticking up into the air - stiff - the belly already puffed and becoming bloated when the 'saving shot' was fired for the camera.

That lions head/neck is too floppy to be on a bloated old body imo.

Staged?? Not sure how you see that from such a short clip. Bloated belly? Could of been a full belly. I think old mate was bloody lucky and the lion perhaps died as it bit him. I've seen the end result of what a lioness done to a mates arm, it shredded his forearm in seconds. That one in the clip only had a wee chew on him. As for the stiff leg, we have all seen animals go stiff just as they die. And I for one would put in another shot for safe keeping, those teeth are too big. I think it's legit. Old mate would never live it down if it was staged, pretty hard to say it happened if you don't have the scars to prove it.

Maybe - just maybe.
I believe the charge and all the shots fired were real- absolutely. I just got the feeling the whole scenario of the lion dying while chewing on the blokes were were staged.

I agree with Daryl. Look at the clip. Lion appears to roll away from camera then stops all movement until finishing shot put into it. The camera was all over the place during the lion attack, camera man shitting himself, then nice still and clearly focused shot. The agro pussy cat most probably did sink the fangs in as it died, that is a single half hearted bite-more than I would like to suffer.
