Those horns do look nice and thick.

I love hunting impala. Well done to Owe.

It looks as though you guys are having a great time over there. But then again, I think one would have to try very, very hard to not have a great time in Africa. Your posts are wonderful.

Back home again, due to rough connections some of the days I only posted on AR since that site was easier to access. But here are the missing reports.

Day 3 part 2

The afternoon hunt went well, I shot a Kudu Cow from which I will make a nice rug, My PH was Frederik(Safari-Hunt) and I was his first client since he made th PH school not so long a go. We never get the chance for any Impalas since they were standing very crowded in thick bush.

We have now arrived in Messina were we will stay and hunt until Tuesday.

Competition

Winner of the competition guessing the longest horn on the best Impala is NitroX with 23 and 5/8. The hat will be on it's way next week. The actual length on the only Impala was 22½ and it was shot by Owe.

I thank all ofyou who watched this topic and participated in the competition. I promise that next time there will be even better coverage and a better prize.

And John, I hope this is counted for a pocket knife!

Christer

Thanks for keeping us all updated on the progress of your safari.

I am sure all of us were most impressed with your initiative and technological prowess. Even with the connection problems at the end it has been the only time I have seen daily safari reports during the safari . Very enjoyable.

Thanks also very much for the hat. I will wear it with pride.

And when the NitroExpress hats are ready I will send you one to wear on one of those Baltic hunts you may soon enjoy (plus ensure a lot of the members of NE.com get one as well). They are still a little way off - with the first samples only being organised so far.

Great looking knife ! Love Scandanavian knifes, my first was Finnish.

The measurment that we did gave the same result for both horns.

I don't know if that is a Swedish knife (doubt it), I only wanted something big, so I searched and found this one.

Will love to have a hat fro NE
