I actually had a look at them on their website yesterday because I was checking if I could order from them directly. Here in South-Africa it is a real mission to get BarnesX for my .243.
Coming back to your question. Here in SA I have a guy with a specialized engineering shop and highly modern and specialized machines wich work of computers who actually manufacture 400gr brass solids for my .460wby mag.The accuracy is macnifisent and you cant pick up on your scale that there is any difference in weight of them all.The unfortunate thing is that I pay R8-00 (Rand) a piece so every now and then it takes R800-00 out of my pocket.I see that this Barnes bullets is in the region of US$30-US$35/50 wich makes it a lot cheaper for me.I am exchanging R6-00=US$1-00.In other words 100 Barnes wil be US$65-00 (R390-00)I am seriously looking into buying a few and test them in my gun.

Wombat but that stil does not answer the question.Sorry

Are you talking about the TSX?

No,
I think he is talking about the flat nose solids with bands . Barnes website and ads say less pressure/more velocity are the benefits from the bands. These appear to be replacing the venerable round nosed solids. I too would be interested in feedback/experience, since I only have one box of barnes 400gr solids in .416.
Is it me, or would the flat nose open a certain pandora's box of feeding issues in bolt guns? As opposed to traditional round nosed solids.
