Hi, When I am in WY, I am near Pinedale. Right now I'm in Key West sitting in the warm trade wind breeze. Just had my driveway plowed in WY, took a front end loader to remove the snow.

Agree w/your post but I'm not going to take off the bases, just figure a way to work around them. Worst case I could dig into my box of G&H and Jaeger mounts and put one of them on. As the base is behind the wood, a full restoration would only mean fitting a slim dutchman to fill the gap left by the base removal.

Well Ruger450 when you get tired of all the hardship of Florida weather you can come back to beautiful Wyoming and be comfortable.
Why suffer so much?

As I look out my window typing this, there are a few inches of fresh new snow, and still coming down. March 24, 2014.
I bet you are just beside yourself missing such wonderful dumps of "Partly Cloudy"

But don't worry. The 65 MPH winds will move it all around pretty soon.

Lived for 50 l-o-n-g years in upstate NY where winters are gray, damp and cold. At least in WY the sun shines sometimes and 30 below w/no humidity isn't bad if the wind isn't blowing (before noon) and you stay in the sun.

I really have been suffering here as the change in weather patterns (GD Bush's fault) have produced an almost constant NE wind that has limited fishing and diving a lot. Our only nearby shooting facility is a 25 yard indoor range, brand new and very nice but still….25 yards.

Now, where you at ?

I am in the Wind River Country between Shoshoni and Riverton.
It's supposed to be a bit warmer this week, but the weather man is calling for both snow, then rain and then snow again.

I don't mind cold and dry.
Cold and frozen like solid rock is ok too.
But wet-cold SUX! Snow on top of 34 degree mud!

The rain at 36 degrees is made to torment us.

Oh you're over in the "banana belt" side of the Winds. You guys are probably in shorts and T shirts by now.

The guy who cleaned my driveway said it was a 4-5' layer cake of ice and snow.

Look like rain here but at least was able to shut off the A/C (I hate A/C).

My backyard here (we get to look at the golf course but don't have to pay for it.)
