Hopefully some details will be forthcoming at IWA in a couple of weeks, but seems as though a couple of dealers in Germany may have jumped the gun on the official announcement... http://www.juelich-bonn.com/site/fernglas/zeiss/victory/

Quote: The 8&10x54 HT will primarily be a product for the European market, although there will be some demand in the USA, mostly on the 10x54. USA retailers will offer both. Generally, most everyone who loves a 56, generally does not care for the size and weight so size and weight were a key targets for us. We also knew that the mere girth of the tubes of 56mm products deter consumers, so both weight reduction and smaller in the hands was accomplished. Focus groups have identified the fact that the slimness of this product feels like a 50mm bino in the hands, not a 54/56. Our thoughts were that with the brightness the HT glass offers, we can offer similar brightness to the 56 so we can maintain brightness, reduce size and reduce weight. It's an interesting combination that we think will serve our customers well.
