Lancaster, Help
      #241904 - 07/02/14 09:17 AM

I have been trying to find information on a Mauser 98 I have without luck. I noticed in combination gun of the day a photo of the below Waffen Schmidt posted by Lancaster and thought the grip area and horn trigger guard were very similar to those on my Mauser. What do you think Lancaster?

the reason you see allways similarity's with Suhl make guns is part's were made by the same specialist delivered to the gunmaker. the name you find on the gun in the end did notmake anything alone but there was an intensive division of labour.
the horn trigger guard was very common on guns for german market up to WW 2. horn will feel not so cold in winter times on the finger like steel so you find it on all sorts of hunting guns.

If that is not an original Mauser Type M sporter, which I assume it is not, the bolt handle was very nicely done, in contrast to many I have seen in the past. How about a full length photo of the rifle?

the bottom metal lever looks like original mauser ,more pics are needed as far as a connection ,,,,those pins were to fix that wrist crack at least in the bolt rifle,,....paul

No greener safety, I always thought original mauser but it has no serial numbers other than the 1851 as per the pic below.

The set triggers are not original Mauser.
