A weekend duck hunt in Mississippi.
      #240382 - 10/01/14 03:23 AM

I had a great weekend that I wanted to share. Two friends and I went down to Mississippi last weekend and hunted with Tallahatchie Hunts in Clarksdate MISS.

Something like 10,000 acres loaded with ducks. We scouted for ducks in the after noon and built improvised blinds and hid in the timber the next morning. Great shoot. Wood ducks, Pintails, Mallards, and Gadwall where taken.

The owners name is Catfish Fluatt. They do a big southern breakfast in his home after the morning hunt. Gotta love southern hospitality.

When I was 17 pr so I took a gorgeous drake Wood duck with a band, I just could not afford to get it mounted at the time but we got three or four perfect drakes and I sent two to the taxidermist to get a mount done. I also gave him my band to use on the mount. Not strictly honest but I think I can live with it.

Duck hunting is an old love of mine that I haven't seen since my father passed. Your picture has me thinking maybe it's time to get back into it.

Thanks for posting. Nice bunch of birds!
